> Can you learn how to code in one night?

In a world where knowledge is at your fingertips, most would imagine that you would have all that you need to succeed in learning how to code.

Well, why wouldn’t you? With hundreds and thousands of videos on various programming languages, from JavaScript to Python, there’s a plethora of resources that you can learn the fundamentals of code from.

But, as this well-known post on Quora illustrated, the only way one could learn how to code in one night is if you travelled to the North Pole, where nights are six-months long!

Learning how to code is similar to learning a new language, it takes practice to hone the skill and to master the language. Whilst you can easily pick up a few words (or numbers), it may take time before you can string together a full sentence, paragraph, and so on.

One of the key challenges with learning how to code is that it's not always easy for everyone. Some people have a natural aptitude for it, but others don't have those skills naturally.

However, if you're willing to put in the time and energy into learning how to code, and understand that coding is a continuous process of trial and error, anything is possible.

You need to invest time to practice all kinds of things like algorithms, data structures or programming paradigms until they become like second nature. And to learn how to code, you need to put in a lot of hours learning about it and doing it over and over (and over) again. Because the more you do something, the more likely you are to get better at it, which results in an improvement of your performance, and the learning repeats.
