> MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE AND 42 ABU DHABI HONOR WINNERS OF THE AGENTIC AI HACKATHON

Honouring the winners of the AgentEra AI Hackathon, where students and innovators developed Agentic AI solutions to real challenges in housing, energy, and government services.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with 42 Abu Dhabi Academy, concluded the "AgentEra AI Hackathon" - a three-day event that brought together a distinguished group of students andinnovators to develop cutting-edge technological solutions aimed at enhancing government service efficiency and accelerating digital transformation across the energy, infrastructure, and housing sectors.​

The hackathon was organized as part of the Ministry's efforts to translate the UAE Government's directives toward accelerating the adoption of AI applications in government work, and in support of the leadership'sguidance issued on 23 April to convert 50% of UAE government sectors, services, and operations to autonomous Agentic AI models within the next two years - reinforcing government performance efficiency and cementingthe country's global leadership in innovation and digital transformation, positioning the UAE as the first government in the world to operate at this scale through autonomous AI systems.​

His Excellency Engineer Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, affirmed that the hackathon reflects the Ministry's direction toward empoweringnational talent, fostering a culture of innovation, and leveraging AI in the development of government work. He noted that the participating projects presented promising models for solutions applicable across vital sectors.​

He stated that AI today represents a primary driver for developing government services and raising institutional performance efficiency, and that the Ministry is committed to investing in national talent and buildingstrategic partnerships with leading academic institutions to empower young professionals to develop innovative solutions that contribute to shaping the future.​

He added that the Ministry will continue deploying the latest technologies and innovations to develop a more agile, proactive, and sustainable government work ecosystem - in line with the UAE Government's goal ofconverting 50% of its services and operations to Agentic AI models within two years, and enhancing the readiness of the energy, infrastructure, and housing sectors for future demands.​

Ms. Fatima Al Fouladhi, Acting CEO of 42 Abu Dhabi Academy, said that the Agentic AI Hackathon demonstrated the immense potential of young UAE talent, with participants successfully developing innovative solutionsto address real-world challenges in housing, government services, and strategic intelligence - reflecting AI's role in advancing government innovation. Al Fouladhi expressed pride in the partnership with the Ministry ofEnergy and Infrastructure on this distinguished initiative, affirming that investing in digital capabilities is a fundamental pillar for building a smarter, more efficient government and empowering a generation capable ofleading digital transformation and creating solutions with lasting impact.​

At the closing ceremony, His Excellency Engineer Fahad Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Sector in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, honoured the winning teams. First place went toteam "Dash", second place to team "Lunar Lab", and third place to team "Rushswap" - in recognition of the excellence of their projects and their ability to harness Agentic AI technologies to develop innovative solutionssupporting government service efficiency and digital transformation.
